First micro-update on the painting of the bundle of ole Hasslefree models I received last week. Biting away at five pieces a time, and we start with Ekaterina, Finn, William, Grant, Baker. Quite a mix of characters here; from the moody and professional to the, well, pretty creepy. The colour brief is specific in some areas, but I'm also allowed a little free-roam, so had a little fun with the trousers of Finn (yeah; that sounds wrong. Pfft). Reasonably happy with the result. I tried to go with something that was cyberpunk-logic with regards to fashion without being too over-the-top. Next on the table will be Giant, Ken, Jade, Gruff, and Morgan. Another interesting mix, so should be fun.

  Pretty much an image-dump for this post, but here we have a selection of futuristic vehicles in solid resin and hollow 3d print. The military vehicle is currently awaiting a set of wheels to arrive, so you can ignore the wood block holding it up!

Finished my little side project for some former ice-cream sticks, plus a couple of additional ones too. I have been finishing a set of Mercenaries and a Native American Chief too, but I'll post them in the next few days. Still need to varnish , but their all done, and as I said in my previous post, I'm not too sure what use they may be beyond just being (hopefully) interesting/pretty to look at. They'll be going on the shop soon, probably framed? Not too sure yet. Also decided on another social media stepback/detox? Just don't think it's for me, seems to set me orf on cynicism, feeling down and, ultimately - drinking. Which is never fun. So while I haven't deleted them, I doubt I'll be going back to Twitter anytime soon. And I'm only staying with Facebook until I finish a couple of commissions. Well, don't want to end on too much of a downer, as a result, I might actually start posting regularly here (OoOOOOoooo). Okay, this blog doesn't get many...

With my sporadic painting time at the moment, as well as trying to get some model painting in, I've also started using up a large collection of Ice-cream sticks by painting them. For what? Not entirely sure at the moment; they may find themselves on the shop as just strange micro-art pieces, but you could use them as thick bookmarks? ... okay maybe not. They may look a little better in box frames too. Hmmm - Anyway, this is a quickie post to show them off. I still need to finish the lower areas, but they're pretty much done. I decided to keep them fairly simple, and go for generic fantasy types: Wizard/Mage, Elf, Cyborg, and Lovecraftian creature ... Have a few ideas for others, but for now this is just a sideline while still painting from a suitcase!

A short post and a round-up of current projects, starting with another couple of sets from Stronghold Terrain; shield-maiden warriors and civilian/villagers. As always with Stronghold Terrain, these sculpts have plenty of character and action to them, making them a pleasure to paint. As you can see, I'm in the process of prep'ing; filling shoulder joints and evening out the bases before adding sand and undercoating. Next we have a selection that will eventually be added to the shop; the last two female action gunners and Roxlade - a witch/mage character from Westfalia. I purchased the latter more out of curiosity than anything else. The model was on clearance at Bad Squiddo, which seemed a pity as it's a nice sculpt. So not too sure if its still in production? A major social media detox occurred, and I decided to close my Instagram and Twitter accounts. I did this for a few reasons but mostly because they were becoming a bit of a drag. I'd got into the regime of only really scanning through posts when I myself had something to post. If not, I rarely bothered. Pretty selfish. So a clean break was needed, although I kept my Facebook page and I'm hoping that this blog can be dusted off (again), and start posting more solid updates to my work - fingers crossed. And so ... we kick off with some recently finished models. Now, I still have a few sets to paint - two are already in prep - of some SAGA viking figures, from Stronghold Terrain . They are all beautiful sculpts, and a pleasure to paint. As you can see from the photos, we have a shield-maidens as well as some tooled-up villagers!
