Having left the Etsy shop fallow for a while, I've made a start on populating it with some newly-painted models, starting with a set of four Near-Future Mercenaries from CP Models. These have been in a pile of metal for a while and wanted to get them sorted as I'd previously painted
Mercenaries Pack 1 from CP Models a while back. These sort of minis are brilliant canvases to go crazy with an make your own; its surprising sometimes how different a set can look with different colour pallets.

With Pack 1 I just went full-out bright and garish, seeing as they had a random, thrown-together-gang vibe to them, so cerise jackets and green coats were the order of the day. But with Pack 2 the smart military-style berets pointed me more towards soldiers or - in this case - a generic police/security unit. The orange/grey of the uniform is a soft-nod of inspiration from the Colonial guards in Total Recall.

As with Pack 1, I'm pretty pleased with the way they turned out. And (as of writing) they are available to buy on my shop.
