Super Troopers ...

Having left the Etsy shop fallow for a while, I've made a start on populating it with some newly-painted models, starting with a set of four Near-Future Mercenaries from CP Models. These have been in a pile of metal for a while and wanted to get them sorted as I'd previously painted Mercenaries Pack 1 from CP Models a while back. These sort of minis are brilliant canvases to go crazy with an make your own; its surprising sometimes how different a set can look with different colour pallets. Mercenaries Pack 1 (CP Models) Mercenaries Pack 1 (CP Models) Mercenaries Pack 1 (CP Models) Mercenaries Pack 1 (CP Models) With Pack 1 I just went full-out  bright and garish, seeing as they had a random, thrown-together-gang vibe to them, so cerise jackets and green coats were the order of the day. But with Pack 2 the smart military-style berets pointed me more towards soldiers or - in this case - a generic police/security unit. The orange/grey of the uniform is a soft-nod of inspiration f...

American Revolutionary War ...

More of a sedate selection of models this time, as I visit the 18th century townships and soldiers of the American Revolutionary War (and some France Indian War). All figures are from the Muskets & Tomahawks range from Stronghold Terrain . I've posted many times in the past of my lack of wargaming experience. And when it comes to classic gaming, the battles of the 17th and 18th century are, probably, the first sort of era that most folks will thing of. Regiments of soldiers in bright feverish uniforms, cavalry, and muskets for me this time, rather than pump-action shotguns and semi-autos. But to start with, we have a selection of citizens going about their daily business. It was nice to start with the citizens; it's initially quite strange to paint people holding letters and farm tools rather than guns or fantastical swords. But wasn't long before I made a start on more traditional fayre - soldiers. Here we have two sets of French Grenadiers and some character figures -...

Progress III: Dagnai, Germans and Pointing Skeletons ...

Image
A bit of mixed bag of a progress report this time. I finally finished a set of 20mm German soldiers from CP Models; they've been sitting on the bench for a little too long, so got them finished off. I've not painted many 20mm sized models, so these Infantry figures were a nice challenge. Given their smaller size, they still had a nice about of detail to them too. And so, with them finished, I continue with The Cursed City set and the Feudal Japan collection. The first 'goodie' figure finished with Dagnai Holdenstock, and decided on a couple of markers next: a couple of grimly pointing hanged skeletons. And for the Feudal Japanese, I'm starting three Onna-Musha warriors in full armor.
