Women at War ...

Image
I've been fairly blushing of late with being asked to paint a few models here-and-there for Annie at Bad Squiddo Games , and recently I've been even luckier - and not a little humbled - to have been sent a few of the new models for Bad Squiddo's latest Kickstarter: Women of WW2 - Resistance. Other than that I tried not to be too fussy on patterns, so just kept that to Freddie. I had planned on doing a muted plaid for Truus, but thought that being in a heavy coat and thick socks - clearly in resistance mode - she'd more likely be wearing as plainer clothing as possible, so went with a brown for the skirt and green for the socks. Having painted a few models for Bad Squiddo in the past and knowing the quality of the sculpts, of course I'm going to be somewhat gushing over them, so obviou...

Stormrider Clan Warriors ... #1

Image
First selection of models for a commission; beautiful sculpts from Stronghold Terrain of a range of warriors of the Stormrider Clan. Not really much more to say, other than to point out the details to the models. Plenty of scope for creativity should you get some and paint them up yourself. And on to the image dump ...

Partly an image-dump as well as a test for a basic gallery layout, but here are some recently finished models. I have some interesting bits coming up, so I will catch-up with posting here again - for those that sop by. In the meantime ... Action Heroine (Bad Squiddo Games), Nasty Skulkers (Citadel Miniatures) and Norma (Bad Squiddo Games)

Bad Squiddo Bits and Pirate Goodness

A couple of weeks back, I was able to paint-up a selection of models for Bad Squiddo Games. Of course I accepted; Bad Squiddo has really been expanding their range of late and there seems to be some pretty exciting developments in the near future. But, back to the ones I got to paint; they were a nice fantasy mix, with an Amazon Assassin, Musician, Princesses, Witches and a recent new cast - Monkeyin' Around Pirate.  As long as they looked different from the current paint-jobs from the packaging, I could do what I liked, so decided to try out some random free-paint work on the Arcane witch and the Princess; mainly because the dress and the cloak/shawl were crying out for some design or pattern. I also - for the princesses - decided to move away from the more traditional brighter, sparkly look, and went for a darker moody red and black (dark grey) scheme and a green, Gaelic warrior to the other. The plaid/check took two goes, but pretty pleased with how all the patterns turne...
