Throwback Thursday ...
Sorting through some old photos on the comp and found a few pictures from 2018-19 of some of my favourite model from Lucid Eye, so thought I'd post a short #throwbackthursday.
Hypnocrat
This guy is from a set of quite surreal characters called The Hypnocrats. So many options for them regarding colours, and I wanted a futuristic/60s psychedelic look. This particular model also reminded me of Ringo Starr - an added bonus.
Barrow Queen
This model had such a weirdly creepy look - like something from a late70s Hammer film - that I had to get it to paint. Although there wasn't masses of delicate detail, the vast robe lends itself to simple block colour or, if one feels more adventurous, some free-hand painting. Regardless, an imposing figure.
Goddess of Ireland
My personal favourite from Lucid Eye; mainly due to Irish family bias, but painting a (beautifully sculpted) model of an equally beautiful piece of art by Jim Fitzpatrick, was a genuine pleasure. I intend to order another when I get time. Again, another model where you can keep to the colours found in the original work or unleash your own creativity. Well worth a purchase.
