Completed Ireland Goddess and Progress on an Ogre ...
Surprise surprise, it's been a while since I posted. But I have since finished a few more Saxons as well as the Jim Fitzpatrick inspired model from Lucid Eye Publications of the Goddess of Ireland.
I'll start with this model first, as I've been painting her on-and-off for a bit, in between the Saxons and Ogre.
I didn't stay completely with the colours of the painting, but still wanted them to be fairly vibrant and jarring, so off-set the warm yellow of her dress with some soft blues then a slightly more potent green for the fringing. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the finished product. Still unsure as the whether or not I'll keep her (I'm not really a collector or gamer), or move her on at some point.

I had some lofty ideas about making a stand that was an extension of the rocks and grass on small base, but thought she would benefit more from keeping it simple, so cut a piece of seasoned apple wood, giving it a couple of coats of light satin varnish and leaving it at that.
I did add some foam pads that just help the base stay on the base, but that's it.
While I'm here, I's also like to thank Lucid Eye for the shout-outs and re-posts on their Facebook and Instagram pages. If was from a random Instagram post that I first saw the model advertised in the first place - I went straight to there site and purchased one. And I'll certainly be back at some point to buy some of their other models!
nb. Sorry if it sounds a bit gushing. I'm not connected to them, just had a good shopping experience and received a fine figure that I was very happy with.
Now, onward to the ogre ... well, an ogre and his Dwarven rider. Kirag and Thorg are part of the Paul Bonner Special Guest box for Zombicide Green Horde*
This (resin/plastic) pair make a fairly sizable model, but are loaded with detail - Kirag sits aloft his mighty steed, with most of what he may need for simple comforts - pots, pans, mugs, utensils, even a small cook book! An impressive model in itself, but such additions give it some real character and make it easy for the gamer/painter to get seriously creative.

Although I've still got a fair way to got yet, I decided to give Kirag's seat padding a tartan/plaid design, not just because I thought it would suit his look, but, as Thorg is his transport, he'd naturally have a nice well-worn *car* rug ... no furry dice though.
Lastly, and back to some reality, albeit the past, some Saxons. Still have a few to finish, but nearly though them now. These are all from Footsore Miniatures with any shield decals from LBM Studios.
*In past posts I'm sure I've said this from the Black Plague set - *facepalm*
