Progress: Onna-Musha, The Grave-Keeper and Octren ...
Having not painted many Warhammer models for a bit, it's strange trying to get used to such a Game-workshop-ee names like Gorslav or Raduka the Wolf. Gave me the shivers, and I remember all those years ago, trying to actually play a basic Warhammer game at a store in Bromley. Never any good; just didn't make any sense to me then and, sadly, still doesn't now. But the figures themselves fascinated me, and I took more interest in painting them - making them ready of battle that feeling the need to partake in any of that heated dice-rolling. Since that day, I've never been much of a fan of the Bretonnian Knights. So, painting these Cursed City figures, checking reference and smiling everytime I mix up an 'Octren' with a 'Qulathis'.
But, regardless of nostalgia, I present another few completed figures for both sets I'm working on ...
The second of the Onna-Musha, with one more left. I decided on a green for her under-armor, and it didn't really hit me until finished that she reminds me a little of a Ninja Turtle*.
And Octren and Gorslav. Enjoyed painting both of these, very strange, characters - given some of the others, that IS saying something. Plus, I made a start on Qulathis the Exile, although she's a little further, as of writing this.
*Has me wanting to paint a set of those now. Hmmmm.
Octren looks great, such detail you've captured in his books. He's one of the 'good guys' but definitely doesn't come across as someone you'd want to meet in an alley. A lovely model and a fantastic paint job.
ReplyDeleteGorslav the gravekeeper sends chills down your spine. Especially watching stranger things lately. The colour of his head dress and the candles blends so well together. It definitely gives that decrepit look. Fantastic work :)
